I am attempting to break the world record by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro which stands at 5,895 meters above sea level. Where Most climbers take 5–9 days to reach the summit. This journey is deeply personal, yet it’s also meant to inspire the next generation to think big and believe in themselves.

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, rising 5,895 meters above sea level. It is located in northeastern Tanzania in Kilimanjaro Region and is a free-standing volcanic mountain made up of three cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira.
The purpose of this challenge is to inspire young people to keep believing in their dreams despite hardship. Growing up, I faced poverty, illness, fear, and the loss of my father, and there were moments I almost gave up on school and life. Through climbing mountains from a young age and surviving difficult experiences alone, I learned resilience and courage. This record attempt is my way of giving back—to show that no matter where you start, determination, support, and belief can turn struggle into hope.

For years, Mount Kilimanjaro has stood as a proving ground for human endurance and willpower. The fastest ascent and descent ever recorded is held by Swiss-Ecuadorian runner Karl Egloff 6 hours, 42 minutes, and 24 seconds on August 13, 2014. To break this record means moving faster than anyone before pushing beyond limits, embracing pain, and rewriting history on Africa’s highest peak.
I trained consistently and intensively to prepare for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Through repeated high-altitude hikes and regular fitness training, I built the endurance and strength needed to handle extreme conditions.
I have extensive experience climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, having completed multiple ascents under challenging conditions. Each climb strengthened my skills, endurance, and mental resilience, allowing me to adapt to high altitudes and demanding terrain.
My name is Fredrick Joseph Barukeri, a proud mountain guide from Tanzania. I began my journey on Mount Kilimanjaro as a porter, learning the mountain from the ground up. Through discipline, endurance, and passion, I rose to become a professional guide. Every step on the mountain shaped my strength and leadership. Today, I am driven by one goal to break a world record on Mount Kilimanjaro.
